I like people. I like their stories and hearing how their particular experiences brought them to where they are. I’m intrigued by how something as simple as an idea can evolve into a venture. Every business got its start from some sort of inspiration, or a passion for something, or even just taking a gamble on doing something differently.
And I’m fascinated by you! How did your career get started? Can I share that story with our community? Whether it was a lucky break that turned into a career you weren’t expecting, or something that took a lot of grit for you to create — people love hearing these types of stories. How did what you “do for a living” every day happen?
I am reaching out to invite you to join me in a new series my company is pursuing — #LocalBizLegends. The idea is to highlight you as a small business owner, or your organization. We will feature your personal story on our website — another opportunity for you to market and promote yourself locally.
The benefit is mutual in that you can then share the article with your clients, colleagues, friends, and family — imagine having the opportunity to tell your story through an interview. How you can then use your story to promote your business or services is limitless. As a small business owner myself, highlighting other businesses is a way to give back to my fellow entrepreneurs, while also gaining knowledge from others’ experiences and creating a dialogue among our collective network of professionals.
In thinking about what types of professionals I want to feature, I have narrowed down the list to Women in Business (can be self-employed or work for a larger company), Minority-Owned Businesses, and Small Business Owners. There is a category for everyone leading to an inclusive exchange of stories that can be shared to inspire other leaders within our community.
